Egg Allergy
Egg Allergy is the most common type of allergy seen among children. It is the allergic reaction of the body towards egg proteins. The symptoms usually occur within a few minutes to a few hours after having eggs or egg-containing foodstuffs. It can occur even in children below one year of age. Mostly, the allergic response vanishes with age. Ayurveda has a unique concept of Virudha (incompatibility) where if mismatched foods are used together, there will be acute and chronic reactions on the body. Eggs can cause such a reaction when combined with unsuitable foods. Dr. Gupta’s IAFA has a definite Ayurvedic treatment protocol for allergies caused by eggs. IAFA is always focusing on providing genuine Ayurvedic management for all health issues.

Causes of Egg Allergy
Egg allergy is caused when the body’s immune system wrongly identifies certain egg proteins as dangerous. When the body comes in contact with egg proteins, the immune system produces antibodies that make release of histamine and other chemicals. These chemicals result in allergic symptoms on the body. Egg white, as well as egg yolk, has allergy-causing proteins. Most commonly allergy is caused by egg white. If a breastfeeding mother takes eggs, there are chances for the baby to present with allergic reactions. Risk will be higher in children, who have any other type of skin allergy or family history of allergy.
A combination of egg with certain foodstuffs may result in allergic manifestations. Egg if consumed with milk, meat, cheese, curd, melons, etc. can cause allergy.
