Home Remedies of Talisa patra – Abies webbiana

From ancient times itself Ayurveda is widely used in India. Talisapatra, a commonly seen and easily available herb. Due to its high medicinal value it is used in treating many diseases like,

  1. In Cough (Kasa) – Powdered Talisapatra is mixed with juice of Adhatoda vasica leaves and taken to cure cough.
  2. In Anorexia (Aruci) – Tablets prepared from powdered Talisapatra, Cinnamomum camphora and sugar candy promote taste.
  3. In Asthma (Swasa) – 1-3 g powder of Talisapatra is mixed with juice of Adhatoda vasica leaves and taken to cure asthma.
  4. In Heart diseases (Hridroga) – Decoction made of Talisa taken is useful in heart diseases.
  5. In Hiccough (Hikka) – Powdered Talisapatra is mixed with juice of Adhatoda vasica leaves and taken to cure hikka.
  6. As a carminative (Deepana) – Talisapatra is powdered and taken before food. It can act as a carminative.
  7. In Vomiting (Chardi) – Powdered Talisapatra is taken to check vomiting.
  8. As Digestant (Pacana) – Talisapatra powdered and taken after food.
