IAFA Ayurveda has published a new research article in the International Journal of Ayurveda and Pharma Research (IJAPR), highlighting the preliminary evaluation of the PAAM (Prakriti-Aligned Ayurveda Medicine) assessment tool for personalized Ayurvedic allergy assessment.
The study, published in September 2026 in Volume 14, Issue 9 of IJAPR, explores the practical application of a structured digital assessment tool designed to organize multidimensional Ayurvedic and clinical information for individualized allergy assessment.
The PAAM assessment incorporates several domains, including Prakriti, current Dosha status, Agni, Ama, Strotas involvement, trigger sensitivity, clinical risk, disease trajectory, lifestyle, dietary, environmental, and patient-specific information. The tool is intended to support systematic patient assessment and physician-led clinical decision-making.
For the preliminary evaluation, three patients with different clinical presentations were assessed. The findings demonstrated differentiated individual patient profiles despite variations in age, allergic triggers, chronicity, clinical presentation, and organ-system involvement. The assessment captured multiple constitutional and functional characteristics that may help organize patient information for subsequent clinical evaluation.
The study emphasizes that the PAAM assessment tool is intended to support, rather than replace, clinical examination and physician judgment. The preliminary findings do not establish diagnostic accuracy, therapeutic efficacy, or formal validity of the assessment tool.
The publication represents an important step in IAFA Ayurveda’s ongoing efforts to explore structured and personalized approaches to Ayurvedic allergy assessment. Further research involving larger and more diverse patient populations will be required to evaluate the tool’s reliability, reproducibility, usability, and clinical utility.
