IAFA Ayurveda announces the publication of a clinically significant case report in the Journal of Ayurveda and Integrated Medical Sciences (JAIMS), highlighting the successful Ayurvedic management of multiple food intolerances associated with allergic rhinitis in a 15-year-old patient.
The case presented a complex clinical picture, including hypersensitivity to various foods such as seafood, dairy, and vegetables, along with symptoms like vomiting, constipation, skin dryness, and dust-induced respiratory issues. Conventional IgG-based testing indicated broad food reactivity, pointing toward underlying gut-immune imbalance.
The Ayurvedic diagnosis identified the condition as Aahar Asatmya (incompatible food response) with Vata-Kaphaja Pratishyaya (allergic rhinitis). The treatment approach focused on correcting digestive function (Agni), reducing toxin accumulation (Ama), and restoring balance in body channels (Strotas).
A combination of classical Ayurvedic formulations and therapies was administered over a period of nearly four months. The patient showed marked improvement in food tolerance, significant reduction in allergic symptoms, and better skin health. Notably, previously reactive foods such as prawns and certain fruits were tolerated without adverse reactions. Mild constipation persisted, indicating the need for continued care.
This case underscores the potential of Ayurveda in addressing root causes of food intolerance through a holistic, gut-centered approach. The findings suggest that individualized Ayurvedic interventions can play a meaningful role in improving quality of life in patients with complex hypersensitivity disorders. IAFA Ayurveda remains committed to advancing evidence-based Ayurvedic research and promoting integrative healthcare solutions.
