Angular Stomatitis in Children- Mukhapaka
Angular Stomatitis is a clinical condition which causes red, swollen patches in the mouth corners where the two lips meet and make an angle. The condition is also known as Perleche and Angular Cheilitis. It can affect either only one side of the mouth or on both sides at the same time. In Ayurveda, the condition called Mukhapaka is explained in which the symptoms similar to Angular Stomatitis are observed. Causes of Angular Stomatitis in Children
Angular stomatitis is generally caused by certain fungal infection. A type of yeast called Candidais the common causative factor.
