We are delighted to announce that our latest clinical case study – Ayurvedic Management of Sun Allergy (Solar Urticaria): A Single Case Study by Dr. Sahil Gupta, CEO and Founder of The Institute of Applied Food Allergy (IAFA® Ayurveda), has been officially published in the International Journal of Advanced Research (IJAR), October 2025 issue.
This pioneering report highlights the successful Ayurvedic management of Solar Urticaria (Sun Allergy), a rare and difficult-to-treat photo-dermatosis characterized by itching, redness, burning, and vesicular eruptions upon sun exposure. The case involved a 75-year-old male with severe sun intolerance and food sensitivities, who achieved remarkable improvement through a personalized Ayurvedic protocol at IAFA®.
The integrative treatment focused on Pitta Dosha pacification, Ama (toxin) detoxification, and Srotas (channel) purification, combining IAFA®’s proprietary formulations such as Aahar Amrutham Ras, Pitpapra Capsules, IAFA® Skin Detox Tablets, IAFA® Skin Beau Tea, and IAFA® 333 Cream. Complementary therapies, including Nasya Karma, individualized diet and lifestyle modifications, and yoga-pranayama practices, supported immune modulation and long-term recovery.
Within six months, the patient achieved complete remission, with restored skin health, normalized sleep and appetite, and renewed tolerance to sunlight without allergic flare-ups. The study underscores Ayurveda’s potential as a safe, sustainable, and non-steroidal alternative for managing chronic photo-allergic conditions through root-cause correction and systemic balance.
