The Institute of Applied Food Allergy® (IAFA®), IAFA Ayurveda, has published a clinical case report in the International Journal of Ayurveda and Pharma Research, presenting a novel, gut-focused Ayurvedic approach to managing pediatric peanut and tree nut allergies with atopic manifestations.

The case details the treatment of a two-year-old child suffering from persistent food allergies associated with atopic dermatitis and allergic rhinitis. The child had a history of recurrent angioedema, urticarial rashes, nasal congestion, digestive disturbances, and multiple food intolerances since early infancy. Previous conventional management provided only temporary symptomatic relief.

At IAFA®, the child was treated using a structured Ayurvedic protocol based on the principle of Aahar Asatmya, or food incompatibility. The treatment focused on improving digestion, eliminating metabolic toxins, restoring gut integrity, and regulating the immune response. The protocol included internal herbal formulations, nasal therapy, external applications, and strict dietary regulation tailored to the child’s condition.

Significant clinical improvement was observed within three months, with a marked reduction in skin and nasal symptoms and normalization of digestive function. Long-term follow-up over 2.5 years showed sustained remission of atopic symptoms, improved tolerance, and no adverse effects.

This case report highlights the role of the gut–skin–lung axis in food allergies and demonstrates the potential of a root-cause-oriented Ayurvedic approach in managing complex pediatric allergic conditions through digestive correction and immune modulation.
