The Institute of Applied Food Allergy® (IAFA®) proudly announces the publication of a significant Ayurvedic case study in the International Journal of Ayurveda and Pharma Research. Authored by Dr. Sahil Gupta, Founder and CEO of IAFA®, the study presents a detailed examination of Ayurvedic management in a confirmed case of Eosinophilic Esophagitis from Australia.
Eosinophilic Esophagitis is a chronic immune mediated inflammatory condition of the esophagus that results in symptoms such as dysphagia, reflux, and food intolerance. This newly published study documents how individualized Ayurvedic treatment contributed to long lasting clinical and immunological improvement in a young adult patient.
The case describes the patient’s long standing history of reflux, food sensitivity, and esophageal inflammation, along with associated dermatological concerns. Through a systematic Ayurvedic protocol designed to improve digestive strength, clear metabolic toxins, balance aggravated doshas, and support mucosal healing, the patient experienced steady and measurable progress. Dietary guidelines based on classical Ayurvedic principles played a central role by minimizing triggers and supporting gut function.
Clinical assessments over the course of the treatment period showed significant reduction in symptoms, improved tolerance to foods, and restoration of overall digestive balance. Follow up evaluations also indicated complete resolution of esophageal inflammation and normalization of gastrointestinal function. The patient remained stable without relapse and demonstrated improved quality of life.
This publication highlights IAFA®’s dedication to advancing evidence based Ayurvedic practice and contributing meaningful insights into the management of immune related gastrointestinal disorders. The case demonstrates how a carefully structured Ayurvedic approach can work alongside conventional care and offer a promising path for individuals with chronic inflammatory conditions such as Eosinophilic Esophagitis.
